Ohio utilizes bench players to blow away Central Michigan at home

It did not take long for the fans to get what they wanted at the Ohio women's volleyball game Saturday.

With No. 20 Ohio (24-2, 14-0 Mid-American Conference) putting away Central Michigan (3-21, 0-14 MAC) handily in the first game, chants from the O-Zone were asking for the Ohio bench to take the court.

At the beginning of the second game, the reserves began to enter the game and would continue until the end of the match in which the Bobcats swept the Chippewas 30-15, 30-15, 30-21.

It was nice to work on some thingsoffensively and to get a look at a lot of players in a game situation and be able to rest some others

coach Geoff Carlston said. These are (the) players of our future and it's great to get them in. Our back row worked well and the offense worked hard.

The Bobcats were able to get every player into the match throughout the night beginning with setter Jill DeArmond, who gave Savanah Parra most of the night off after the first game.

It was pretty nerve-racking. Coach mentioned that we broke the attendance record

so it was exciting

DeArmond said. But Savanah sets such a great tempo

and I just tried to keep the same one she does and run the offense and keep Central on their heels.
