'50s-influenced rock but the band seems a lot more like, unoriginal Weezer-influenced rock.
That's not such a bad thing, though. The Cincinnati quartet pulls off the classic Blue Album sound better than most acts these days, including Weezer. Chaselounge's latest release, BlackPlasticOrdinary
is indeed black, plastic and ordinary, but it contains some inventive melodies and enough oohs and ahs to make for a fun listen.

why can't I walk away? over waltzing hi-hat hits and spinning guitar melodies.
Meanwhile, My Rotary Phone is lyrically indicative of the band's '50s fetish, and Jack and Janet is firmly planted four decades later, perhaps the most Weezer-y - and best - of the bunch. Scott's singing range scales the heights and plunges to the depths, and the song shuffles along with a bit of added intensity.
This kind of music often comes off as tired and overtly clich+
