To the 6,000 or so freshmen wandering around Athens wide-eyed and overwhelmed, I want to offer you my sympathy. The change from the familiar to someplace foreign is tremendously difficult, no matter how excited you are about starting something new.
I know because I have it much worse than all of you. While Athens is a small, warm little town consisting of all of six streets, I'm settling into being an ocean away from home. As all of you meander along sunny streets to get your bearings, I am running through the rain with a huge map and trying to decipher street signs.
Denmark is a truly lovely place, but an easy place to get used to, it is not.
