In a new poll released by the Columbus Dispatch, Democrats seem to be cruising toward a dominating November election, led by Ted Strickland, who has a 19-point lead over J. Kenneth Blackwell. Congressional candidate Sherrod Brown leads incumbent Mike DeWine by five points.
Ohio is under national scrutiny this election cycle and it's becoming clear that Ohioans are ready for change and are exhausted of the perceived corruption. Whether this is indicative of national trends is yet to be seen.
The reasons for the rising tide of Democrat enthusiasm might not last until November, but it should help sway some early undecideds when the No Excuse voting policy opens Oct. 3.
These races are not only important in and of themselves, but they will be a major factor the next time Americans choose a president. Ohioans need to decide now how they want their state to swing.
