The Ohio cross country teams ended their seasons at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet in Bowling Green on Saturday with an eighth-place finish in the women's race and a 17th-place finish in the men's race.
The women fell short of their goal of qualifying for nationals, but still finished ahead of all Mid-American Conference schools in the 30-team field.
Placing 19th with a time of 21:50.6, junior Carime Reinhart led all MAC women. Not far behind her was senior Andrea Maas, who finished 29th, with the second-highest finish of any MAC runner.
Freshman Kari Summers finished 36th for Ohio, while freshman Annie Beecham and sophomore Julia Weisenborn finished 70th and 73rd, respectively.
Reinhart missed qualifying individually for the NCAA National tournament by just 38 seconds.

Senior Brian King led the Bobcats with his 84th-place finish in 33:09.5. Sophomore Shamus Eaton was close behind him with a time of 33:18.37. Eaton's time landed him in 88th place.
Sophomore Todd Holbrook freshmen Logan Singleton, Brock Schwarz and Will Rover all placed in the top 150 of the 209-man field.
Ohio finished sixth among MAC schools in the field of 31 teams. Conference foe Eastern Michigan placed fifth with 137 points, qualifying them for the NCAA National Championship.
Corey Nowitzke of Eastern Michigan claimed the individual title with a time of 30:57.94.
With the successful cross country season concluded, the distance runners will now turn their attention to the indoor track season, which begins in January.
