As a three-time Ohio grad and an avid fan of Ohio athletics, I have followed the teams in all sports since 1974 when I first was a student. In my opinion, history is repeating itself when it comes to the current basketball team, its level of play and its coaches.
I followed the teams during the Bandy and Hahn eras when the play was lackluster and the records mediocre at best. I see no difference now under the leadership of Athletic Director Hocutt, Coach O'Shea and his coaches. The recent embarrassing loss to Akron exemplifies just how far the program has slidden and continues to slide. Where will the buck stop?
I tire of excuses and reasons for the current level of play and the pathetic record. Where is the pride that once permeated the program and resulted in national attention? Can't we bring back Coach Nee or even Coach Hunter? Please?
