The women's golf team finished 14th at the 14-team Lady Buckeyes Invitational with a total score of 1,001 through 54-holes. Kristen Mautz led the Bobcats finishing in a tie for 26th place with a 239 composite score. The senior tied her best score of the season, going 77 in the first round of this weekend's tournament.
Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week Meredith Waterston followed Mautz's performance, coming in 60th with a 251. Waterston struggled during the first two rounds, shooting an 89 and an 84 Saturday, but bounced back nicely Sunday to shoot 78, which was the best performance by a Bobcat throughout the weekend.
This was the final regular-season tournament for Ohio seniors Mautz and Waterston. Next weekend the Bobcats will play in the MAC Championships, hosted by Eastern Michigan.
The men's team will also return to action next weekend after taking this week off from competition. They will play in the Firestone Intercollegiate hosted by Akron.- Staff report
