The women's golf team returns to action this weekend in the Lady Buckeyes Spring Invitational after a fifth place finish in the Falcon Invitational on Tuesday.
This weekend's 13-team tournament in Columbus features Mid-American Conference opponents Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Toledo and Western Michigan along with eight Big Ten teams. The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow with the third and final round at the Scarlet Course slated to start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Ohio's lineup this weekend consists of Meredith Waterston, Kristen Mautz, Katie Stafford, Lindsay Bergman, Colleen Lienesch and Lauren Bergman.
Thanks to her career-best second place individual finish at the Falcon Invitational earlier this week, Meredith Waterston earned the MAC Golfer of the Week Award. Waterston's recognition was the first time an Ohio women's golfer won the award this year. Her finish was also the highest finish by a women's golfer since the 2005 fall season.
This is the final regular-season tournament for the women's team, who competes in the MAC Championships next weekend.
With this week off, the men's team returns to action next weekend at the Firestone Intercollegiate, played in the same facility that hosts the PGA Tour's World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational.
