A Hocking College student has been charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, fellow student Jodi Marie Blankenship.
Ronald Hendrickson II, 21, remains in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, and an autopsy had been ordered in the case, Nelsonville police said.
Blankenship, also 21, of Burton, died after being stabbed in the neck and abdomen early Thursday morning, prompting the first homicide investigation by Nelsonville police since 1993, according to court records and police.
When police arrived at the rented house in Nelsonville that Blankenship and Hendrickson shared with four others, they found Hendrickson with a wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus and released Thursday night, Sr. Patrolman John Meeks said.
