At the tail end of the CrimethInc.'s parade down Court St. on Saturday night, my mind fell into some formless, celestial void. Once the swirling vortexes of colors and sounds ceased, I had learned the most ultimate of Truths.
According to my Power Animal (a narwhal, I think it was ' some kind of unicorn-like whale), the truth is that nobody really knows, entirely, the truth. They have general ideas and half-truths, but never the full truth.
(Except for this. I was told that this is probably the truth.)
And because of that lack of definite truth, nobody should take other things presented as truths ' such as political and religious ideologies ' too seriously.
The lack of definite truth among people especially applies to those under Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22). Since we are under their sign now, they are more susceptible to extremist and ideological bilge than, say, Scorpios (Oct. 24 to Nov. 22), who will meet these views with derision and irritation.
For more harmonious energies, Leos should flush their system using herbal teas made with senna leaf.
Bilge or no, CrimethInc.'s 2007 Convergence in Athens serves as a good example of half-truths-taken-too-seriously in action. The organization itself has the characteristics of a standard Aries (Mar. 21 to Apr. 20), who are known for their impulsive, adventurous and somewhat selfish behavior. They, perhaps, saw the Convergence and subsequent macings as an act of defiance against the Man.
In their minds, the Man has kept them down for far too long. So, it is only cosmically and karmically right to fight back against those whom one sees as universal oppressors.
While Geminis (May 22 to June 21) are usually attracted to Aries, that once-alluring rebelliousness quickly fades when one goes unconscious during a parade and wakes asking, Why do all this? What's the point of illegally shutting down a street and scaling streetlamps?
Geminis: A relationship with Cancer (June 22 to July 22) should yield more positive fruits, one with less selfish ideologies and more common sense ' and perhaps children?
Regardless of the potentially conflicting sexual energies of Taurus (Apr. 21 to May 21) and Aries'one into experimentation and the other vying for more sanitary efforts ' Taurus could easily sympathize with Aries' views.
However, CrimethInc.'s is a half-truth that has been taken too seriously. They only take into account how radicals and The Athens News reporters will see the event, rather than the general public reaction. Whatever ideologies they possess, they are inciting the oppression that they are so firmly against.
Sagittarians (Nov. 23 to Dec. 21) tend to attract dependent and explosive relationships like that. To alleviate the stress, Sagittarians should mull over an ascetic life, but should decide to bathe in orange blossoms instead.
Consider ideologies in politics, religions and diets like astrological horoscopes: though they may be expressed as the truth, they're merely half-truths that should be treated like advice from a potentially unreliable friend.
CrimethInc.'s problem is purely Aquarian (Jan. 21 to Feb. 19): frequently arrogant but well-meaning. Their basic views ' workless, communal society ' might have good thought put into them, but they do not take into account opposing beliefs.
Whatever their beliefs, though, they follow the vein of other ideological extremists by giving their views too much clout.
When common sense is replaced with one-sided ideologies, it leads to mob mentality, flaming poi and psychedelic visions of narwhals.
