Athens County Commissioners upheld the termination of an Athens 911 dispatcher suspected of improper conduct on duty at their weekly meeting Tuesday.
Elizabeth Bradley and Elizabeth Liz Smith allegedly sent topless photographs of themselves to Jacksonville Police Sgt. Ron Stoika. The messages were sent via cell phone from the 911 facility's restroom, according to search warrant affidavits filed Aug. 24.
Bradley was still under her one-year probationary period at the time of the investigation, during which county officials are not required to list a reason for her termination, County Commissioner Lenny Eliason said.
A third search warrant filed against dispatcher Sherri Bailey has not been unsealed.
Both unsealed search warrants stated that Stoika contacted Athens County 911 Director Doug Bentley upon receiving four pictures on his cell phone, which depicted either fully naked breasts of the women or upper bodies with only a (sic) brazier.
Motorola cell phones were later seized from Bradley and Smith, according to the warrants.
Bentley brought his recommendation to take action against Bradley during the Tuesday meeting, Eliason said.
Outside executive session
all we did was uphold Doug's recommendation for the discipline said Eliason.
The dispatchers' alleged misconduct is no longer a criminal matter, but there was an allegation of possible misuse of county time County Prosecutor C. David Warren said.
There are no criminal charges to be filed against any of the individuals at 911
said Warren. Now
it's all up to Doug Bentley.
Bentley did not return Post calls seeking comment.
