The Movement Student Dance Organization at Ohio University will present nine student-choreographed dance pieces during performances running tonight through Saturday.
All nine dances are extremely relatable to the audience-
is a slow, peaceful dance accompanied by piano music composed by senior audio composition major David Glivar, Bonfour-Mikes said. She had a specific feeling she wanted to evoke in the audience through the music, she said.
The two-and-a-half minute solo piece is a sensual depiction of learning to accept all sides of yourself, Bonfour-Mikes said.
I consider it just a small glimpse into the life of a 20-something woman she said.
The calm tone of- contrasts with junior Megan Payne's fast-paced and aggressive piece, Like a Brick
which will be one of the most dramatic dances in the show, Bonfour-Mikes said.
Like a Brick incorporates four female dancers, who perform very fast and impressive movements, she said.
The show begins at 8 p.m. at the Shirley Wimmer Dance Theatre. Admission is $5.
