I have looked at all the credentials for the seven candidates for Athens County commissioner, and I believe Charlie Adkins is the best qualified.
Charlie has wide experience in representing people for the last 20 years: He was the regional vice president of AFSCME for 20 years ' represented members on the executive board; president of the local AFSCME 1699 from 1986-2006 ' and he worked hard for the best interests of nearly 700 OU employees. He chaired the safety committee and served on the health care committee and he was a pension trustee for the Ohio Public Retirement System. He was elected as a pension trustee for 13 years, chairman of the board for six years and worked hard to preserve health benefits for retired and disabled Ohio public employees. He was also a volunteer fireman for 20 years in the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.
