The men's and women's basketball teams at Ohio University-Chillicothe will resume their seasons Saturday ' less than a week after both games and practices were put on hold because an OU-C sophomore basketball player collapsed and died during practice.
Members of the men's and women's teams unanimously decided to resume playing in the wake of 20-year-old Jonathan Mason Davis' unexpected death, according to a news release. Mason was participating in a team four-on-four drill when he collapsed Monday night. Officials have yet to determine a cause of death.
Both the men's and women's teams are set to face Akron Wayne on Saturday at the Shoemaker Center in Chillicothe. The women's game tips off at 1 p.m. and the men's at 3 p.m.
A memorial service will be hosted for Davis between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday in the Shoemaker Center.
