Information from East Green student senators

Although we have made efforts to visit most of your residence halls or contact your hall councils, you apparently don't know who we are. So, allow us to take this time to introduce ourselves. We, Emily Shuki and Matt Tokarsky, are the student representatives from East Green for Student Senate. As we are writing this, we're in the Senate's office in Baker 341, and we're here a lot, so feel free to drop by if you ever have suggestions, complaints or projects for us to work on. We'd love to hear from you.

You may not be aware of who we are or what we do as student senators, but we've been busy this year trying to make your lives a little easier. Matt has been looking in to student placement in substance-free residence halls, and the price differentiation in renovated East Green halls.

Emily, on the other hand, has been attempting to bring the USA Today's Collegiate Readership Program to OU. This program would provide our campus with access to national and regional newspapers. Emily is also sitting on the Dining Hall Development committee and the Oasis Ad Hoc committee, so if you have any opinions or ideas regarding these two projects, send her an e-mail!

Our members have been hard at work composing and implementing a roommate compatibility survey, looking in to the mail situation in the residence halls, and the reallocation of trash receptacles on South Green.

Feel free to Facebook us, email us (mt171006@ohiou.edu or es399906@ohiou.edu) or stop by the Senate office. Matt is here Wednesdays from 2-3 p.m., and Emily is here Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m., although we have a tendency to be in the office more frequently than that.

Emily Shuki is a sophomore journalism major. Matt Tokarsky is a sophomore sociology major.
