I am writing in support of Susan Gwinn as the best candidate for county prosecutor. I have been impressed for many years by Susan's commitment to our county and to fair elections. She has worked tirelessly for the Democratic Party, for the Board of Elections and for the people of Athens County. She is an excellent attorney.
You know how in every group there are always those few who seem to do most of the work and upon whom you can count on to get the job done? Well, Susan is that kind of person. I was particularly impressed with how persistently and effectively she worked to protect Athens County voters' right to a paper ballot at a time when other counties were jumping on the dangerous bandwagon of paperless ballots. She also made sure that students have easy access to the polls by having a provisional voting place on campus. Encouraging young people to vote is vital to our democracy. I believe that Susan will work hard for Athens County with honesty, intelligence and integrity. I know she will strive for continued improvement within the prosecutor's office. I really like one of her ideas to add mediation to the office as recommended by the American Bar Association. We need a change in the county prosecutor's office and I believe Susan is the one who has the initiative to do it. She has my vote.
