I hate to write again so soon, but The Post is out of control. I hope someone can read this and reconsider the direction of a newspaper that is part of my university.
To the faculty that advises the editor:
Please pay attention, as this paper is out of control. After reading the article Welcome to OU about newly appointed dean Ryan Lombardi, I was stunned at the immaturity of the opinion. I can't believe you would say that the Board of Trustees has ignored OU's community opinion. I once heard a quote that students care about sex
faculty care about parking and alumni care about sports. The goal of the Board of Trustees is to look out for the university as a whole. To think that the board blows off each group's priorities is ridiculous.
This just in: No dean will approve of rampant underage drinking on campus, which I'm sure is exactly what the student body wants (or valets for profs, or a ranked men's athletics team for alumni).
Grow up and realize that the board is making the right choice for the community in the long run. The Post, on the other hand, gives you want you want, catering to your dreams so it's fun to read (Ohhh, so scandalous, I'm sure you'll print it).
David Gallagher is a sophomore mechanical engineering major.
Editor's note: The Post does not have a faculty adviser.
