I'm extremely glad that 41 of 42 township trustees have endorsed Dave Warren for Athens County prosecutor. I was completely surprised by his opponent's statement, saying that she wasn't much worried about the impact of the trustees' endorsements. These are not people I work with; they're non-partisan people.
The Athens County prosecutor is the legal advisor for the townships and Dave Warren is the first prosecutor who has actually went out of his way to work with the townships having a liaison, Lou Anna Lenigar, to work with the townships. That has worked well for all of the 14 townships. The way I read Ms. Gwinn's statement is that if you are one of the trustees or other people that she doesn't work with, you are up the creek without the proverbial paddle if you want help from the prosecutor's office (if Ms. Gwinn is elected).
