Culture is a broad term. Look it up in the dictionary and you get about six different definitions. Here at The Post we've struggled to define culture ' what it is and what it's not.
We do our best to report on as many aspects of Athens culture as we can, but we can never truly do it justice. It's just too much ground to cover. From the local bar scene or spontaneous fashion trends to that guy who plays the spoons on Court Street, there are too many little things happening every day that shape this town. We can't capture them all in the limited space of our paper.
So we have launched our latest endeavor: a blog. A play on the phrase haute couture
which means cutting edge or fashionable, Haute Culture will record these trends through a variety of media including writing, photo and video. Haute Culture will be updated daily by various Post staffers with details on current art, music, fashion and more from Ohio University and beyond.
We would like to make the blog interactive for readers and will feature student artwork of the week and a poem or story of the week. If you are interested in sharing your work, please e-mail al164906@ohiou.edu with a photo of your artwork or a document with your writing attached.
