'Mish-mashed bunch' brings unique sound, environmental awareness

Just as Lovebettie is an indescribable word, Lovebettie the band plays indescribable music.

Displaying its use of a wide spectrum of genres, Lovebettie has alt-rock songs such as Crumble

piano ballads like Honestly and a hint of alt-country/pop in Loosethreads.

We are definitely a mish-mashed bunch for sure said lead singer Alexandra Naples. C.T. (Fields guitarist) and I usually come up with ideas for songs

and his are rough and grindy

mine is blues/jazz. Our bassist's favorite band is Flogging Molly and the drummer played for a hardcore band.

Other members of the band are bassist Matt Sharrow and drummer J. Banks. With its unique name and songs in hand, the band played a show with Lifehouse in September.

(That show) was way cool and a total rush

Fields said. It was a sold-out show and they were really cool guys

super nice G? the crowd responded really well.

Even though it has played with successful bands, Lovebettie has yet to release an album, though the band does have enough song material written to record one.

We are currently trying to save up money

Fields said. We are looking toward a full-length

at one of the best studios in Pittsburgh

and it is going to cost a lot of money but we are looking to go national from there G? we are making sure they are all really good-quality songs.

Until the band can scrounge up enough money to record, it will be playing shows around Ohio and on the East Coast. They will be here for a show with Black Spyral Dancer tomorrow in honor of Earth Week. The band members said they are happy to play the show because they care about the environment and are eager to help in any small way. Naples is also a sculptor and said that a lot of her work from the past year has been environmentally based.

What you put in (to the environment) is what you get out

Fields said. I think the environment is in a vulnerable state
