Sports Time Ohio returns

Dorm-dwelling Indians fans can once again watch the Tribe from the comfort of their own rooms.

Catvision, the university's official cable provider, brought back Sports Time Ohio, the official network of the Cleveland Indians, yesterday. STO can now be found on Channel 72 within the on-campus cable service.

AZN, an Asian programming channel, previously occupied channel 72, but was dropped because it no longer exists, said Brian Thompson, Ohio University's associate director of Auxilary Services.

We had a lot of demand for the Indians when spring started

Thompson said. So when that channel opened up we were able to look at options for bringing STO back.

Because of limitations to channel capacity, Catvision could not add a channel without first dropping one, according to a news release.

STO was dropped from Catvision's programming lineup at the beginning of the 2007-08 school year because of results from a student survey on channel preferences. Channels such as ESPNU, LOGO, Oxygen, Fox Soccer, HGTV, Versus and G4 were added after the survey.

Catvision provides cable television service to all on-campus residence halls and the majority of academic and administrative buildings on the Athens main campus.
