Oh, the glorious day! Chipotle finally arrives and showers the student populous with its blessings of free burritos. This was a day I had long looked forward to, but as I stood in line to receive the great offering, the talk among most people was about their other favorite places for a burrito fix nearby. I noticed several patrons casting a sad, almost shameful glance over toward a certain buggy and there was worried conversation that a great Athens institution may be in jeopardy. I, however, feel that the three other burrito joints on Court Street can coexist if we as a whole choose to support them equally (after all, Taco Bell and the Burrito Buggy both survived just fine right next to each other and Chipotle is much more expensive than Taco Bell). Here's a pledge that I encourage all Athenian burrito fans to take; for every Chipotle item you buy, swing by the buggy or Big Mamma's for your next fix. If enough of us do this, I think all three will thrive and the Burrito gods will smile upon our fair city.
