A prolific duo on the court and best friends off it, Leon Williams and Bubba Walther both plan on continuing their careers overseas.
Williams said his agent is currently looking to get him workouts with NBA teams, but if that doesn't work out, he plans to play somewhere in Europe.
Walther also plans on playing in Europe.
Whatever happens with the pair, the memories they have made for themselves and the fans will not be forgotten.
The O Zone led us to so many victories over the past two seasons
Walther said. The fans were unbelievable.
Williams and Walther weren't too shabby themselves, either.
Leading the Bobcats to their 11th 20-win season, Walther averaged 12.3 points and was second only to Williams with 46 steals last season. He also led the team with 116 assists and led the Mid-American Conference in 3-pointers per game.
Williams led the team in scoring (16.4 points per game) and steals (47). He also led the MAC in rebounds (325), was second in field goal percentage (61.4 percent) and third in points per game.
Walther and Williams have many memories from their time at Ohio, including last season's win over George Mason, when the fans stormed the court, and the team's victory at Maryland.
Going back home and playing in front of my friends and family at Maryland and beating them was a great moment Williams said. I will never forget that.
Williams added that going to the NCAA Tournament after winning the MAC Tournament in the 2004-05 season was his most memorable experience over the past four seasons.
Besides being two of the Bobcats' best players, the two formed a friendship that they plan to continue after they leave ' no matter how far they may be separated.
Leon and I are best friends Walther said. We will probably continue to be really close friends until the day we die.
The close bond between the two players helped them on the court.
We (were) both seniors
so we naturally bonded
Williams said. (We) took on the leadership roles with the team.
Williams said his and Walther's different personalities helped the team.
Bubba is really into the game
and is a great teammate because he looks for me a lot and he helps me get into the game more
Williams said. I try to keep everyone under control and he gets everyone fired up
so I think we complement each other pretty well.
