Neil Macmillan has once again earned the title of Coach of the Year from The Post's sports staff.
This season was Macmillan's third at the helm of the Ohio field hockey team. He kept the team ranked in the national coaches' poll all season long and guided them to the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. It was the second year in a row that the team made the tournament. They also took the Mid-American Conference Championship title for the second year in a row.
Macmillan was recognized for his coaching abilities when he was named the 2007 Dita/NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year. He has compiled a 39-26 (.600) record in his three seasons at Ohio. Under him, Ohio has earned seven All-MAC First Team selections, eight All-MAC Second Team selections and two MAC Player of the Year awards.
A native of the United Kingdom, Macmillan is just the second British collegiate head coach and the fourth male Division I head coach for field hockey.-
