Ohio hopes talent brings success

Theo Scott thinks the pieces are in place for Ohio to have its most successful season in 2008.

The quarterback, who begins fall camp number one on the Bobcats' depth chart, said he sees his team as having the potential to top the last two seasons of non-losing records.

I don't know if you see it

but this is probably the most talented team Ohio University has ever had in history Scott said. My job is to get everybody ready and everybody on the same page to play together as a team.

Scott, who shared the quarterback position with recently-graduated Brad Bower last season, added that he has noticed better team of chemistry so far this year.

These are my buddies out there Scott said. We're really close. We're a team. That's the big difference from last year to this year. I'm just out there for my team.

While Ohio coach Frank Solich is not ready to dub his team as the greatest ever, he did say the expectations are to improve greatly off a 6-6 season last year.

I'm going to hold reservation with saying that yet and to be honest with you I don't know how talented (past) teams were

Solich said. I do believe we have talent ' maybe the most we have had since we've been here. We'll see where that leads us.

Solich said. There's going to be a drawn-out affair before we decide some of that.

Garrett, who played the last two seasons as a wide receiver, said he is firmly entrenched as a tailback following his time there in the spring.

I feel comfortable playing running back

Garrett said. I think my speed gives me the upper hand on most defenses because I'm pretty fast.

Speed is an asset the junior used during his time as a receiver and punt returner, leading the Mid-American Conference in 2006 with a 14.5 punt return average.

We have a little bit more talent than my freshman year but I think the big thing is our speed. We have way more speed now.

he said. I'm out there watching
