The Athens County Dog Shelter is operating with two employees after two others quit in August and will be hiring more workers today.
Les Mohney ' the only full-time employee ' is acting as the dog warden, animal control officer, humane officer and kennel cleaner.-

One dog was quarantined because of whooping cough at the Athens County Dog Shelter on April 30. The dog was monitored and once his health improved, he would be eligible for adoption.
