Pop my culture: Two-party system undermines voting privileges

I am a hardworking, tax-paying, American woman, and I'm proud of that. Sometimes.

I am grateful to live in a nation that gives women the same legal rights to government as men. I am a very politically oriented person, and hence, I don't vote based on the outfit the candidate is or isn't wearing. I couldn't care less about the orange suit or the countless facelifts. After closely studying the much-publicized presidential election, not to mention the possible candidates, I've made an informed decision ' I don't want to vote for any of these people.

My candidate is one that the majority of voting Americans haven't even heard of: a man named Mike Gravel. This is the candidate who represents my views and beliefs. Plain and simple, this is the way your vote should be based. It should have nothing to do with whether someone was a POW or has a wife who wears a $128 dress. I am pro-choice, against the war in Iraq, for universal health care and for the Fair Tax Plan. I know what I want in a candidate because I went out and studied it myself. John McCain is not my candidate, and no ' just because I'm a Democrat doesn't mean I want Barack Obama. -
