An Ohio University graduate student was found dead in her Carriage Hill apartment Monday evening, many hours after her drug-related suicide, according to Athens Police Department and Athens County Coroner's reports.
Pamela Radcliff, 25, was discovered by Athens police officers near multiple blue caplets and Wellbutrin XL after a co-worker reported her missing, Athens Police Officer Neil Dicken said.
Her last known communication was a text message sent to an ex-boyfriend at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Dicken said. Athens police and the county coroner are still investigating time and cause of death, he added. -
said Elliott, who is also membership director for College Democrats. She was always welcoming and ready to be your friend.
Radcliff was always available as a reference and willing to show up on election night, said Liz Clark, communication director for the College Democrats.
It's great to have people you can count on Clark said. She'll be missed.
Radcliff graduated from OU last November with degrees in history and political science, Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi said. She recently started studying adolescent-to-young-adult education, according to the College of Education.
Our sympathy goes out to the family Lombardi said. We mourn her as a loss to the Athens community.
The university likely will fly an OU flag in Radcliff's honor and then give the memento to her family, Lombardi said. The tradition of flying a flag for deceased students started last year, he added.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
After Radcliff's funeral, which current and former College Democrats plan to attend, the group might go to The Union, her favorite bar, and tip their glasses to a kind, intelligent friend, Elliott said. -
