When I started OU in the fall of 1988, one of the first things we learned was that during a football game, once you saw the band perform at halftime, it was time to leave.
After being in the Shoe Saturday and watching the Ohio University Bobcats take on the Buckeyes, I'm hoping that old tradition no longer exists at Peden Stadium.
I have always been proud to say that I am a graduate of Ohio's oldest university. Today, I've never been more proud to be a Bobcat fan!
To all the Bobcats and the coaching staff ' congratulations! By all rights you won that game and you should never reflect otherwise. You proved to the world what you are made of and how much heart it takes to be a Bobcat. There are teenage boys all over the state of Ohio realizing that playing football for a MAC school is just as big of a deal as playing in the Big 10.
To the Marching 110 ' you proved handily who has the best band in the land in both the skull session and on the field. As always, you show your talents and enthusiasm for what you do and I appreciate that some things never change.
So proud to be a Bobcat.
P.S. Muck Fiami!
