Men's Golf:-

Chad Warmbein continued to play his best golf of the season yesterday at the Xavier Invitational, finishing five-under-par with a score of 211 ' his best score as a Bobcat.

In the Bobcats' final outing of the fall season, Warmbein led the team with a tie for 10th place and recorded Ohio's third-best 54-hole total in school history.

Ohio placed 17th in the tournament out of a 20-team field, dropping one spot from Monday for an 890 total.

Warmbein, who now has three top-10 finishes in his career, shot his career-best round on Monday with a 66 in the second round and posted a 36-hole score of 139in the first two rounds.

Yesterday, Warmbein shot an even par-2 and became one of only 14 Ohio players to ever shoot 214 or better for a 54-hole event.

I was excited I played so well

the junior from McMurray, Pa., said. I couldn't get my putting going as well today.

Following Warmbein on the scoreboard was junior Tim Gusweiler, who shot a third round of 76 (4-over) and tied for 57th place with a 223 total.

Junior Stewart Jamieson fired a two-over 74 in the third round and 225 total, putting him in a tie for 67th place.

The team will head into the offseason looking to improve on some things as well as build on the success the team saw at points over the season, including a win at the Piper Intercollegiate on Sept. 9.

We're going to sit down and talk about some things coach Bob Cooley said. We are going to work on putting quite a bit. We are just a very average putting team and it is definitely something we can look to improve upon over the winter.

Warmbein said he feels confident in himself and the rest of the team going into the preparation for the spring.

We have a good core and a good group of players he said. We can look back on the bright points (of the season)

especially winning (the Piper Intercollegiate). If we look back on our good experiences

it could allow good things to happen.
