The Brits have given us much to be thankful for ' Eddie Izzard, Duran Duran and quiet, nuanced films. I am officially adding BBC America to the list. The list of reasons extends to two main programs: Torchwood and Robin Hood, plus a long and varied list of entertaining reality shows and documentaries.
In the absence of new Quantum Leap episodes, Torchwood is quickly becoming my favorite science fiction show. An obscure governmental group is tasked with time traveling and fighting aliens. Captain Jack, the American leader, is like Scott Bakula 2.0, minus the emotional hang-ups. The aliens are hilarious and the situations absurd, but it's science fiction. -
