As a sophomore, I have a car on campus this year. She's a dark blue Toyota Matrix and her name is Lady Lightning. She's a hatchback and yes, that does mean that I can put more junk in her trunk.
Yeah. I went there just now. Deal.
So being a man who wanted to use his car to his advantage, and by advantage I mean to make some money, I posted on the Ride Board that I was going home last weekend.
Those of you who have started groaning and elbowing your friends to show them the paper and go Psh
dude check it out this fool's trying to use the Ride Board to find people to take home
please stop. You're in class and that's just not appropriate.
I used Ride Board last year several times to go home and back for a weekend, and overall they were pretty good experiences. My parents were willing to loan me twenty bucks to pay someone else to drive me home in lieu of one of them having to come get me. It's like the cheapest taxi service ever.
True, there were some not-the-greatest Ride Board trips. One time my dad was late picking me up at the Meijer off 275, so I got to wait out in the February cold for ten or fifteen minutes. Another time, I was subjected to quiet indie music the entire ride, and it got to be a little much.
But I planned ahead! I got three people who were to ride with me, leaving one open seat (but it was-
