The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft has awarded $27,000 in grant money to the city of Athens.
The grant will be used to construct a pathway to improve non-motorized boating access to the Hocking River.
We are stabilizing the bank and putting in a concrete ramp near the river at the far end of West State Street Park
said Bob Eichenberg, Athens County planner. - Eichenberg said.
The ramp gives people other options so it's a good addition to one of our parks said Mayor Paul Wiehl.-
