12 graduate artists showcasework at Trisolini Gallery exhibit

Colored etchings, paintings, sculpture and wood-fired stoneware are all among the work being displayed in the exhibit Surface Tension, which opens tonight at the Trisolini Gallery in Baker University Center.

The show features the work of twelve first-year graduate students in the Ohio University School of Art.

Bryce Brisco, one of the graduate students in the school of art, said the exhibit would be helpful for anyone interested in the University's art program.

(The exhibit) is a good representation of what one can expect if you were interested in the art school. For people that are already here and people that are thinking of applying

it's good to swing by and see this he said.

Natalie Tornatore, a ceramics student, said the exhibit is a way for the new graduate students to network with area residents.

I think it's a great way for everyone to meet us as a group new to the art community at OU she said.

The opening reception for the exhibit begins at 9 tonight.

Caitlin Nolan, who studies printmaking, said that people should come to see the variety of what the graduate students are creating.

I think that there is a lot of diversity happening

and it shows the breath of what's happening at Ohio University

she said.
