Aretha Franklin's hat at Barack Obama's inauguration was amazing. Not only was that bow humongous, but it was sequined, too. Only Franklin could pull off an accessory that outrageous and I am thinking it's for one of two reasons: She either deserves a big hat to go with her big voice, or everyone is too afraid of her to give her anything but

Animal Collective's new CD has officially been released, and for legal reasons, it's now safe to talk about it. Whether or not you've been listening to that leaked copy since Christmas day, pick up this album now. Best Animal Collective album yet? I'm not yet sure, but I do know My Girls has been on repeat in my head ever since I heard it.

Nerd Style
In lieu of Kanye West's latest album, 808s & Heartbreak, West has brought back an Urkel-esque nerd style that I greatly enjoy. Sure, it is totally a trend that will be gone in five minutes, but until then I am going to wear cheesily huge horn-rimmed glasses with wool blazers and spiffy sneakers. If there is one thing I've learned about West, it's if you can't beat him, join him.
