Slippery roads possible cause of fatal crash

Slippery roads may have been a factor in a car accident that killed a New Marshfield woman yesterday morning, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.

Laura Larson, 47, was killed in a wreck at 3:30 a.m. on Baker Road. Her son, Christopher J. Larson II, of Westerville, was driving the Mercury Grand Marquis westbound when it went off the right side of the road, striking a fence post and a tree, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol release.

It was snowing at the time. I would assume that came to play in it somehow

said Lt. Jeff Skinner of the Athens post. The case is still under investigation.

The Larsons were driving home from Athens when the accident occurred, Skinner said. Laura Larson sat in the passenger's seat and was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release.

Her younger son, Ryan M. Larson, of Columbus, was sitting in the back seat. Christopher, 25, and Ryan, 22, were treated and released from O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, Skinner said. It is unknown if they were wearing seat belts, according to the report. 1
