A winter storm that turned roads into ice rinks in Southeast Ohio forced Ohio University to close for the day.
Operations in the city of Athens also shut down because of the level 3 snow emergency.
The level 3 snow emergency went into effect at 5:30 a.m. and was reduced to level 2 at 1:30 p.m, said Pat Kelly, Athens County Sheriff.
