A portion of North Lancaster Street will be closed to traffic and parking from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for repairs to a water main.
The street will be closed between Columbia Avenue and Second Street, said Kelly Goins, an administrative assistant for the
City of Athens Water and Sewer Department.
There is a leak-in on of the service lines, said Dave Carder, a maintenance technician for the water and sewer department. The crew is not sure how extensive the leak is. It could take a few hours or the whole day, he said.
