The Athens County Democratic Party chairwoman struck a sport utility vehicle with a U-Haul vehicle Friday in a Columbus Road parking lot.
Chairwoman Susan Gwinn was attempting to pull out of the parking lot when she hit the Chevy Blazer and stopped, according to the police report.
Gwinn then asked the driver of the Blazer to move his SUV. After the driver backed away, a very upset Gwinn left the scene on foot, according to
the report.
Someone drove a U-Haul into the front of my car
said the owner of the Chevy, Millfield resident Dan Harlett. He would not comment further about the damage to his vehicle.
Gwinn said she knew she had hit Harlett's vehicle, but she did not think there was any damage to the SUV, according to the police report.
Gwinn would not comment about the incident.
The Athens Police Department officer on the case was not available for comment. 1
