Several preachers led by notorious evangelist Brother Micah attracted a small crowd on College Green yesterday, braving the rain to condemn a wide swath of OU students ranging from the weekend's Palmerfest attendees to supporters of President Barack Obama.
We're here to preach the world of repentance towards God and the Lord Jesus Christ
said Brother Micah, whose real name is Micah Armstrong.
Armstrong was accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth Armstrong, and two men who identified themselves asBro Cope andDr. Rick. Cope condemned hippies and tree-huggers while Rick condemned a wide array of music genres and named many musicians who were goin' to hell.
Jesus Christ himself said most people are goin' to hell Rick told the crowd of about 25.
Armstrong and his wife regularly tour universities throughout the United States, frequently attracting crowds with their fiery brand of Christianity.
Most people don't want to give up their marijuana and their
uh
'derrière' sex. Rick said.
The preachers condemned the fans of different forms of music, including rock 'n' rollers
country-western addicts and fans of gangsta rap
denying that Christian music exists in those genres.
Next they'll tell me there's Christian prostitution and Christian Animal Rights wackos and Christian environmentalist wackos Rick said.
He went further, condemning a variety of artists ranging from Garth Brooks, Hank Williams, Sr., Tupac and Johnny Cash, whom he referred to as Johnny Trash. Rick said all of the artists were in hell.
Rick condemned country music before singing his own country song that brought attention to a number of sins.
Rick also condemned Obama, whom he called a communist and a socialist. He said all people who voted for Obama in the 2008 presidential election were similarly condemned.
Armstrong also condemned the students partying over the weekend at Palmerfest which ended in a violent confrontation between police and students, drawing statewide headlines. He said he and his followers would return to College Green again today to preach.
