Softball adds assistant to coaching staff
Ohio softball coach Jodi Hermanek announced this week the hiring of Sharonda McDonald to her coaching staff.
A graduate of Texas A&M University and former National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) star, McDonald will coach the outfield at Ohio, among other training duties.
Prior to being hired by the Bobcats, McDonald worked as an assistant with Texas Southern University and also played for the Philadelphia Force of the NPF. She also has ties to a current Bobcat assistant, Jenna Hall, who was a teammate with the Force.
McDonald was an All-Star in 2007 with Philadelphia and led her team in stolen bases. She has also coached slap hitters and outfielders in previous coaching stops.
(McDonald) is the type of person that has the ability to get the most out of players
Hermanek said in a release.
She will add a great deal to the team with her ability to work with the outfielders and help with our slappers and speed training.
