The Athens County Sheriff's Office issued an arrest warrant yesterday for a 20-year-old man, now in Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare, who allegedly stabbed his stepfather in the neck.
Kenneth Cremeans of Athens reportedly attacked Scott Tinkham at 2 a.m. Sunday at Happy Valley Mobile Home Park, 6800 Baker Rd., while Tinkham was sleeping, Lt. Bryan Cooper said.
Tinkham, 45, was transported by Southeastern Ohio Medical Services to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital and then to Grant Medical Center. He has since been released.
Cremeans experienced seizures after the incident, and also was taken to O'Bleness and then to Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare, Cooper added.
The Sheriff's Office sent the warrant for felonious assault to Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare. Once Creameans is released, he will be taken into custody.
It could be a month; it could be a week before Cremeans is arrested, Cooper said.
