Baker hosts Business Fair

The third annual Athens Business Fair kicks off this Saturday.

The event will bring 35 Athens businesses to Baker Center Ballroom to advertise and give information about their services to new and returning students, said Student Senate City and County Affairs Commissioner Emily Hanford, the event’s primary organizer.

The event was originally scheduled to be held at Pepsi TailGreat park, but weather circumstances forced it indoors, Hanford said, adding that the move inside will also trim costs. She added that Student Senate will vote one Wednesday on how much money to provide for the fair’s cost.

“(The fair) is an opportunity by Student Senate for local Athens businesses and students to come together,” Hanford said. “It gives an oppotunity for students to learn what type of businesses are available to them, what their resources are.”

The event will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Baker Center Ballroom B.
