With one more win, Ohio University's football team becomes eligible for a post-season bowl game and the budget headaches that come with it.
OU President Roderick McDavis said he does not know how Ohio would pay the bill for a bowl game.

he said Tuesday. I don't have an answer today.
If our football team ... reaches a bowl then we will figure out how to get there.
He estimated it would cost Ohio about $350 000 to play in a bowl game. In 2006 when OU played in the Mid-American Conference Championship and the GMAC Bowl
the university dug into institutional general reserves to pay the $277
550 bill. Coach Frank Solich earned a 5 percent bonus of $12
484 for winning the MAC East Division that year
as was stipulated by his contract. He earns an annual salary of $249
672.
Director of Athletics Jim Schaus said he didn't want to discuss the bowl game prematurely and jinx the team
which would probably need to win seven or eight games to reach a bowl.
The MAC will give bowl teams more money this year than in past years
Schaus added.
That's a good thing, a school might lose less money this year than in the past because the conference is trying to pitch in and be a part of that, he said.
It's great for the campus, great for student-athletes, great for alumni, it's a wonderful thing. People shouldn't be focused in on the cost of the bowl. That's looking at everything half-empty instead of half-full.
The MAC doesn't reimburse teams participating in the MAC Championship for team travel
lodging and housing. In 2006
