As an alumnus of Ohio University, it pains me to see this winless argument continuing to stain the pages of the newspaper that I still make it a priority to read. Last week, Kent Clements and Alexander Marietta wrote a column panning North Face jackets, using their platform at The Post to make personal attacks.
I was, however, pleased to see some resistance to this vitriol and felt compelled to join in the push back after reading Hannah Gierosky's response letter, Ironic flannel just as conformist as North Face fleece. She's right, guys. Sorry that I majored in business and rushed SigEp, but someone has to lure in the venture capital that goes to produce the iPods and record players you ironic, plaid-wearing hipsters so desire.
So what if I wear a North Face and Ugg boots and used to spend copious amounts of time at The Junction pounding Natty, I'm still a person with feelings. Mr. Clements and Mr. Marietta owe an apology to their fellow students and to alums like myself who are tired of hearing the same old thing about how conformist and lame we are. We get it. We should be able to move past this kind of thing, we're all adults. Let's let bygones be bygones and go on with our lives.
