New associate director to earn extra $9,500

The new associate athletics director of development will earn $9,500 more a year than his predecessor.

Jim Harris, who was announced as the replacement for former development director Chris Delisio Oct. 15, will earn an annual salary of $87,500 - higher than Delisio's $78,000 annual salary.

Delisio left in early September to become director of development for the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at Ohio State University.

Harris will be responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and acquisition of all major gifts to the athletics department, according to his Letter of Offer. He will also oversee The Bobcat Club, which is the department's fundraising arm, said Athletics Director Jim Schaus.

Before coming to Ohio, Harris was associate director of development and director of annual giving at Indiana University for more than four years.

He was Indiana University's assistant director of Young Alumni Development from July 2004 to June 2005 and a graduate assistant in Ohio's Athletic Development office from August 2003 to June 2004, according to a news release from the athletic department.
