Billboard 200 band jams tomorrow at The Union

Scott Hedrick, one of Skeletonwitch's guitarists, felt like he was in a bizarre time warp as he walked around Prestatyn, a small resort town in Wales where the band was playing a festival which featured '80s bands Ratt and Queensryche.

Everybody looked like they were in the band Poison

the fans and the bands Hedrick said. It was like some kind of weird 1980's heavy metal camp thing.

Skeletonwitch will take advantage of a rare break in touring to play at The Union tomorrow night in a show also featuring Ringworm, Amish Electric Chair and Slaughterhog. The band, which just finished a month-long tour of Europe, is set to begin a tour of the United States Feb. 17.

The band is still struggling to accept its success and the experiences that come along with it. Paramount among these is the process of making a music video, which includes pretending to play along with the song as it is piped through speakers.

It's actually tiring said Hedrick. Because instead of playing a set for an hour or an hour and 45 minutes

you're playing a song for 10 hours. ... It's weird to play along with something. ... But we're pretty goofy

so in a random situation like that there's always a lot of joking around and stuff.

Skeletonwitch has improved both its business knowledge and music ability since its last album, Breathing the Fire, opened on the Billboard 200.

We've become better musicians and better players just from doing it so long

Hedrick said. You just have to get better

even if you're not actively trying to

which we are.

The band has not reached its goals yet, though. According to Hedrick, For us

I think making it would just be being able to play our music ... with our friends and just do that for a living. ... Just totally focus on our music and tour and not have other jobs.

Hedrick still tends bar at The Union when the band isn't touring while Chance Garnett, the band's singer, works at Decorative Injections.

They won't be able to work those jobs too often in 2010, though, because the band is just working the hell out of this record

trying to get all the mileage our of it

or as much as we can
