For successful educator, television producer and author Ron Giles, a visit to OU Friday offered more than a chance to speak with current education students. The 1964 OU grad also took advantage of the chance to reflect on his time at the university. He met his wife, Joan Giles, at Ohio University, and the two returned Friday to visit together.
“We’re hoping to drive around and reminisce,” Giles said preceding his speech, which was part of the College of Education’s lecture series.
In a blog post written after his presentation, Giles commented on how well-received he and his wife were, adding the return to his alma mater was significant for him.
“As I looked at the young, fresh faces walking across the Green and riding the escalator at the Baker Student Center,” he wrote, “I was refreshed and heartened that those students were in good hands and that there was hope for the future of this country.”
