Tickets for the sixth annual Nelsonville Music Festival will go on sale today at Stuart's Opera House, 52 Public Square, Nelsonville. The festival will be May 14 through 16 at Hocking College's Robbins Crossing.
The first 250 passes will be sold for $35; after that, all passes are $40. After March 1, passes will be sold for $45 and will be $60 at the festival gate.
This year's headliner is country music star Loretta Lynn, who will perform Saturday, May 15. With over 70 hit singles as a solo artist in the 1960s and '70s, Lynn is largely recognized as a country music legend. Her most recent album, 2004's Van Lear Rose, received critical acclaim; its follow-up is set to be released later this year.
Headlining the Sunday, May 16 show is alt-country singer-songwriter Todd Snider, whose 11th studio album, The Excitement Plan, was released in the summer of 2009. Also performing at the Nelsonville Music Festival is Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Michael Hurley, Those Darlins and more to be announced at a later date.
Aside from music, the festival will include art vendors, local food, kid activities, camping and a beer garden.
