Margaret M. Walter Hall will be filled with both fun and fundraising as the Ohio University Fulbright Scholars' Association hosts its annual Night of Cultural Diversity this evening.
(The purpose of this event is) having different cultures get together and also get people to discover different cultures
said Idrissa Fane, OUFSA president. The goal is to have cultural diversity in one place.
The evening will include a variety of cultural performances, as well as food and possibly quizzes and prizes. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Motivated by the recent earthquake in Haiti, students of the OUFSA will also be collecting money for the relief efforts. Mica Barreto Soares, vice president of OUFSA, said they would like to take the opportunity to help the people in Haiti, and that donations brought to the event will be sent to the American Red Cross or UNICEF.
We are all human beings and when someone is in trouble you (help) the person Fane said.
The Night of Cultural Diversity will begin at 5 tonight, and admission is $1. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets at the office of International Student and Faculty Services in Baker University Center or at the door.
